Operations at PORT TILBURY

With no direct shipping service between New Zealand and Ireland the Belts were shipped to London Gateway Terminal. However, ten hours out from arrival the ship was diverted to London Tilbury Docks which was a more difficult terminal for discharging this type of equipment. After securing the correct lifting equipment both Belts were discharges safely direct to trailer.

Discharge at Destination

The consignment was then transported by road to Liverpool and shipped to Dublin. Following discharge, they were moved by road to Ballineen. The route included the challenge of several bridges which had less than 50mm height clearance (a logistical calculation allowed for in the haul route pre-planning study). The project was completed within budget and on time.
